Hello! Thank you so much for offering to write one of these fandoms. I requested all of these because I think they’re great series that deserve more fanfic, and I’m so excited to read whatever you come up with.

This is my fourth Yuletide! I had a great time writing last year and I loved my gift! So I’m looking forward to doing it all over again. Obviously, I’m on ao3 as warfare. Feel free to check my stuff out.

I’ll start by outlining general likes and dislikes, and then elaborate further on specific series/character requests. I am genuinely extremely easy to please, and I’d much rather read something you were excited about writing than something you felt obligated to write because of this letter! So please take these as guidelines or soft requests (since I know how frustrating it can be to get a vague “write me anything!!") rather than hard rules. I just like coming up with prompts; sometimes I like it more than actually writing fic.

IN GENERAL:
I like genfic, I like shipfic with no porn, I like shipfic with porn. All variations are fine with me.

I'm a huge fan of “could-be-an-episode" fic that exists squarely within the reality of canon; I like prequels, midquels, cut-for-time filler episodequels, and canon continuation! I don’t mind some bending of the “rules" of canon -- as an example, I find stuff like characters in “mundane" series developing mind-reading powers etc. hilarious -- but often I like series because of their stories/settings so I tend to prefer relatively canon-compliant fic to outright AU unless otherwise stated in specific requests -- I’ve included a couple of AU prompts in some of my requests, so this is super not a hard rule, just a generalized preference. I’m very partial to casefic, but slice of life works just as well for me.

I enjoy character studies, particularly for characters we don't get pov for much in canon, and in particular I like character studies in which writers bounce the focal character off of a number of other characters -- I tend to prefer this kind of cast-based character study to introspective navel gazing fic. I particularly like stories about navigating friendships! Even in shipfic, I like seeing the two central characters interacting with the rest of the cast. In general, the more of the cast you include in whatever you write, the better! I love huge messy full-cast affairs.

In terms of shipfic, I am disgustingly easy to please. I’m hugely into friends to lovers - I love the idea of two people being best friends and then figuring out that they’re actually really into each other. I ALSO LOVE PINING. Slow burn is my absolute jam, and I love get-together fic. On the other hand, I love “we used to date and we broke up and now we’re older and we’ve reunited and we have to navigate our new relationship with all that history." Jealousy/possessiveness is fine with me, but I’m not into abusive relationships or non-con.

I would love a funny fic if you are feeling up to it! I love to laugh. I’m not that into “random" humor/crackfic, but I’m pretty easy otherwise.

On the other hand, if you want to write something sad, go ahead - my only request is that since it is (will be) the holiday season I really would like a relatively feel-good fic at the end of things. This doesn't preclude angst or sadness or anything -- I love emotional stake-raising!! -- but I would like to come out of everything feeling not (too) emotionally wrecked, if only because I will read your fanfic and then spend the day being social with my family and loved ones. I guess what I’m saying is that I’d really prefer you at least end on a hopeful note?

So like my big caveat is I am, at best, a huge Fate/Casual. There’s something so good about the Fate/Franchise, I think it has an incredible world and story and I like the combination of just buckwild possibility (“who would win in a fight between Gilgamesh and King Arthur?") and strict rules (“well, it would depend on their respective classes!"). In terms of the canons, I’ve watched Zero and I am a casual-ish Fate/GO player. I’ve also watched most of Apocrypha and I’m familiar with Stay Night, although those are obviously less relevant for this request. Also I have a lot of Fate/Friends and there is nothing, apparently, that Fate/Fans love more than explaining Fate/Lore to a willing student.

I love every single combination of these four/two characters; I enjoyed Fate/Zero fine, but Waver and Rider’s friendship, and the way in which their friendship played out, really stuck out to me as something really good about the series. I love Waver Velvet in basically every incarnation; I love that he’s this stupid baby who bit off more than he could chew just to prove a point and then immediately realized he’d made a huge mistake and spent most of the grail war holed up in an apartment with his servant playing strategy video games. I love that he’s kind of a monster, but he’s also a man Alexander the Great respected and loved enough to die to protect. Their bittersweet parting, and the way that Waver’s loyalty to Rider sticks with him in quiet ways throughout the rest of his relatively storied career, is one of the best things about Fate to me. I’m in the camp where they were together together, but if you just want to write them as huge bros who play video games I’m cool with that, too.

There’s also something so good about Fate/GO Alexander -- the potential that he has inside of him, latent and raw, the way he’s a little bit too wise even now. I like that he’s everything that Waver remembers him to be and also that he constantly takes him off guard. I’m also a huge fan of the current relationship between Lord El-Melloi II and Alexander; I’m a sucker for deep-seated, “Waver Velvet will now DIE. FOR. YOU." loyalty, as well as the reincarnation trope where you remember everything from your previous life but don’t relate to it personally, like it was some kind of dream. The two of them have had to renegotiate their relationship, with Waver’s loyalty and Alexander’s earnest youthfulness, and I could honestly read just about anything about them interacting.

I could take any combination of Little!Waver/Big!Waver/Little!Rider/Big!Rider, but I asked specifically for Waver and Alexander because if I’m given my druthers I’d like some kind of combination of Lord El-Melloi II and Alexander or even better young!Waver and Alexander. Alexander has Iksandar’s memories from F/Z right -- what if Fate/GO Waver Velvet (Zero Version) had the same thing with Lord El-Melloi II, like he remembers everything about Alexander and how he feels about him?

Or like what if Waver Velvet just sasses Alexander and Alexander gets mad and is like YOU AND I!! USED TO!!! (hisses) (DO IT!!!!) I’m just spitballing help me there are so many characters in fate and they all have eight versions of themselves, if we matched on fate save yourself, do what makes you happy.

Okay I know everyone is always like “I was here before this series got cool" but I’m genuinely so surprised and excited that this series has gotten as big as it has!! I’ve been a huge fan of Fling Posse and particularly Ramuda since the unit singles came out. I think there’s so much talent that goes into HypMic and it’s such an unusual and special series -- I literally only listened to BATTLE BATTLE BATTLE and nothing else on loop for a solid month and a half or so.

Ramuda is my forever best boy; I like that he seems so cute and personable but in actuality he’s just a monstrous gremlin. Fling Posse imho is the definition of Chaotic Neutral, and Ramuda definitely exemplifies that! He’s so unpredictable, but that’s what makes him interesting. I especially like his darker side, and I want to know what he and Samatoki did that ultimately led to the fall of The Dirty Dawg.

I like his relationship with the other members of Fling Posse; his sparring back and forth with Gentarou is interesting, even if Gentarou is definitely way out of his element, and I like that Dice, the world’s stupidest man, is in a lot of ways the calming influence of the group. Whatever Ramuda’s goals are, he definitely thinks of Gentarou and Dice as means to an end, but I think the truth of the matter is he probably couldn’t do without them anymore -- or he could, but he wouldn’t want to, because the thing he hates the most is being bored! I think these three lend themselves really well to genfic. I’d read anything about them hanging out, as long as no matter how mundane the initial plan things end up spiraling wildly out of control and Ramuda is laughing the whole way.

I like Ramuda’s relationship with all of the members of TDD, but you can probably tell from the prompts above that I have a really soft spot in my heart for Ramuda and Jakurai. I’d love to know what went down between them; it’s clear that Jakurai viewed Ramuda like a patient at some point, something to be healed, but of course Ramuda never wanted that from Jakurai, because he doesn’t think there’s anything to be fixed about him! I’d love to read about them navigating the new terms of their relationship (or non-relationship), and I’d particularly like to see them forced to interact: sickfic, like I said above, or a body swap, or a time loop or a hot springs episode or literally anything!! I’m all RamuJaku all the time now I live for this pairing.

A Thousand Reasons was one of the first events I played pretty actively, and it really cemented me a GBF player -- it was just so good, so memorable and fun, even if I have a vague feeling that the final raid boss was like… insanely hard? Just me? Get good?? Granblue has a reputation for being a bit of grindfest, but I’ve enjoyed playing it super causally. It hits a really good rhythm somewhere being challenging but also being fun, and there are so many characters that really there’s someone for everyone. And for me, that someone is this combination of Saito Soma screaming his lungs out and Hatano Wataru screaming right back, but in a cool way!

There are so many things about this combination that work for me. I like that Feather is a good-hearted idiot who only understands words when they are punched to him in morse code, that he’s completely dedicated to his one goal and that he’s so straightforward that sometimes he can be dense about other people’s feelings. I love that Randall is basically exactly the same as him, but he’s so desperate to not be like Feather that he ends up this weird tsukkomi/kick enthusiast/idiot who is just as dumb as his rival. Randall loves and resents Feather in equal measure, and so much of their relationship is Feather chasing down people to fight and Randall following yelling at him to chill out while also getting increasingly frustrated that Feather seems willing to spend time focusing on anyone but him.

There’s not that much I can say about their relationship that isn’t basically laid out in Chapter 6 of A Thousand Reasons, where everything comes to a head and Randall is furious that Feather can’t even prioritize him for a pre-scheduled fight, and Feather explains that that’s not it, that he’s only been able to get this far because Randall is there to challenge him. This pairing is very good!!

I’d like anything about the two of them, shippy or not. Hijinks (they get wrapped up in a crime, they have to solve a mystery, they find a cat, they swap bodies) are particularly good for the two of them because they’re both so dumb they will never think of any solutions that don’t involve kicks or punches. Maybe something about Randall trying to make Feather pay attention to him? I assume it doesn’t work as planned.

IDOLiSH7 is such a great game, of the idol/actor boys mobile games genre it is definitely my favorite. it is so genuinely funny and it has so much heart, and I want everyone to write a thousand fics about it.

Banri is one of my absolute best boys for a lot of reasons that are very spoilery, but: he’s hardworking, he believes in IDOLiSH7 more than anyone and he showers us with gifts. I like that he’s basically wife material (bentos! He takes care of us!! Banri-san we love you) but that he also has a hard edge -- remember [SPOILERS]’s story about how one time Banri thought he was an intruder and almost brained him with a fire hydrant.

I would read just about any gen fic with Banri interacting with IDOLiSH7 and TRIGGER; these dumbos get into trouble no matter where they go, and honestly gen fic about IDOLiSH7 is like those youtube videos of a bunch of kittens in a box -- just let them go and they’ll entertain you. Include whoever else you want! I think the only characters I'm not crazy about are Gaku's Dad, Aya, and Kujo-san. I’d love Part Two and Three stuff as well, so ZOOL is fair (embarrassing, chuuni, edgelord) game. I requested Banri, but I know that there’s a lot spoilery about this request, and honestly I would be totally thrilled to read a full cast affair. There are so many good combinations of characters in this series!

I also love basically anything to do with Banri and Re:Vale; Yuki loves him so much and he abandoned him, but if you read Re:Member, of course he did; Banri moves out of his parents’ house because his dad remarried and he thought his presence would make everyone uncomfortable. Banri’s only move whenever anything difficult happens is to assume everyone would be just fine without him, even though Yuki clearly wasn’t. Seriously, I’m all about Banri/Yuki -- I like Ban/Momo too! I could even be down to clown with Banri/Ryo! I do ask that you not write straight Yuki/Momo for me; Banri would be fine with it but I want him to be included.

Re: shipping (if you want to include it); most of my Banri pairings are outlined in the spoiler section above; I really would rather not read Banri with Takanashi-Papa or with Tsumugi. In terms of non-Banri pairings I know Iori/Riku and Tamaki/Sougo are popular pairings, but I'd prefer them not to be the focus of the fic (i.e., please no "Banri's thoughts on MEZZO"'s romantic relationship").

I honestly still can’t believe that this series is real. Everything about it was a magical adventure of gay and sparkles and ice skate magic and laughing for no reason whatsoever!! I’ve been to about a thousand ouen screenings of both movies and I’m so glad it came to LA this year and last; I just wish there were plans to localize it!

Hayami Hiro is my favorite Evil Gay Stalker Turned Redemption Arc Soft Boy. I kind of love how awful he is in Rainbow Live, and I super love how basically no one even talks about it in King of Prism. I really like characters who think they’re doing the right thing but just are… deeply incorrect? And Hiro-circa-Rainbow Live is that trope on steroids. There’s some part of Hiro from Rainbow Live that really genuinely believed that he was the only person who could perform Kouji’s songs, and that it was Kouji who betrayed him, and that’s both hilarious and tragic.

I also really like Kouji; I like that he’s sort of treated as your standard ~damaged but good boy~ but that he’s actually also just so passive aggressive he comes all the way back to full-on aggressive. Like… have you noticed 90% of his interactions in the beginning of the series is girls mocking him to his face and then Kouji just turning around and walking away haha. I like that he’s so proud, maybe more even than Hiro, and that he has the kindness to forgive him.

I ship Hiro/Kouji really, really hard; I like that they were childhood friends, I like that Hiro betrayed Kouji but spends most of Rainbow Live convinced it was the other way around. I’m also really into how horrible and possessive Hiro is over Kouji’s songs (and Kouji), and I also love that they did their best to redeem him so by the time King of Prism is underway he's just a Good Boyfriend who just wants to Support Kouji. I would be overjoyed to get any shipfic for them. I’d like anything - schmoopy fic about before everything went terribly, possessiveness and awfulness during the betrayal era, reconciliation, whatever.

If you aren’t interested in shipfic, gen is totally fine, too - fic about OTR as a group learning to work as a unit, or after the events of Pride the Hero when they’re reunited. Hiro and Shin, or really any of the kids at Edel Rose. Hiro was a kind of awful person in Rainbow Live, so him taking the kids under his wing and trying to act like a good senpai would be hilarious (something with Yu? HE WANTS TO DESTROY HIRO IT’S VERY IMPORTANT TO ME). This series is so ridiculous and so underrated and all of the boys are so good, I’ll enjoy anything. If you want to include the girls I would love that; I’m not very into Kouji/Ito and I deeply believe that Hiro doesn’t deserve Beru, but otherwise I love the girls and would love to see them again.

EVERYONE SEEMS TO BE OVER THE DSRK GAMES BUT I AM STILL NOT.

Devil Summoner Kuzunoha Raidou XIV vs. King Abaddon is one of my favorite games of all time, and I really like vs the Soulless Army, too, though it’s much harder and I am kind of garbage at it (I like to joke that when they were making King Abaddon ATLUS just took everything hard out of the first game and replaced it with something gay).

The Taisho period is my favorite in Japanese history; I’m very into the Taisho roman aesthetic, and overall there’s just something very romantic about the period -- it was a historical moment that straddled tradition and the past and modernity and the future in a lot of very interesting ways. I think the DSRK games really feed into that, you know? In a lot of ways the setting feeds into the game; Raidou is a traditional figure, supported by a cast of demons, who has to keep order in the capital - and inevitably chaos comes from the interaction of tradition and modernity. these are strong words for games in which robot zombie Rasputin and LITERAL SATAN are the antagonists, huh?

I really like Raidou (he’s particularly great in the drama CDs, if you have access to them), but Narumi is my favorite character in the series. He fits into a very specific subset of character that I like very much, which I’d describe as "no-good old guys who come through when they’re needed." I love how frivolous he is in his day-to-day, but that comes from his troubled past, and I like that he really does try to be a good person (as an example, at one point in the drama CDs Raidou admits he’d wanted to go to school because he hasn’t been in ten days, and Narumi sends him off, and then admits to Tae that he’d kind of hoped he could ask Raidou to do the laundry for him).

Narumi/Raidou is my forever ship. Now, literally almost ten years after I first played these game, I am still just as on fire for them as I was in the beginning. If anything, time and lack of content have just made me thirstier lmao. I have a hard time even explaining what I like so much about it -- I like that Narumi is technically there to keep an eye on Raidou but that in the day-to-day Raidou has to keep Narumi in line, I like that they’re opposites, Narumi all flash against Raidou’s quiet, Narumi representing modernity while Raidou is tradition. I LIKE THE AGE DIFFERENCE AND I LIKE THAT THEY’RE BOSS AND SUBORDINATE DON’T LOOK AT ME and I also like that they’re equals at the same time. I like that Narumi tries to take care of Raidou and protect him, in his own way, because he’s the adult. I like that Raidou doesn’t need it, not really, but that Narumi does it anyway.

I’m also very happy to get genfic, to be honest - I think the 1920s time period is a great opportunity for some period gen about mundane day-to-day (with demons. And zombie robot Rasputin? I don’t know).

I love Tae (sorry, sorry - Asakura Kichou!!) and I would love her to be included, but I’m not interested in shipfic with her, because she is an INDEPENDENT MODERN WOMAN AND SHE DOESN’T NEED A MAN. I also love Gouto. Please include him, it you want! He’s the most important mentor Raidou could have, and also he is fuzzy. I love all of the demons, too, Victor, whatever - I love the world of DSRK and I’d like a wide variety of fic for it.
